This Cookie Notice describes how Wolman Wood and Fire Protection GmbH, Dr.-Wolman-Straße 31-33, 76547 Sinzheim, Germany, email: info.wolman@de.sika.com (“we” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and store information when you visit our websites. For more information about our data processing activities, including information about your rights, please see our privacy policy at wolman.de/en/privacy.

1. What are cookies and what information do they collect?

When you visit our websites or view our services online, we or an authorized third party may send you a cookie. Cookies are small text files that may be stored on your device. When a website is accessed, a cookie placed on a device sends information to the party that placed the cookie. Cookies are commonly used on a number of websites. Each cookie usually contains the name of the domain from which the cookie originated, the “lifetime” of the cookie and usually the IP address or other unique number of the device and may therefore contain personal data, i.e. information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

2. Session and persistent cookies

Session and persistent cookies can be stored on your device on our websites. The difference between a session and a persistent cookie relates to the duration of the cookie. Session cookies are cookies that are usually valid for as long as you use your browser or browser session. When you end your browser session, the cookie expires. Persistent cookies are, as the name suggests, permanent and are retained even after the browser is closed. This enables, for example, faster and often more convenient access to our website.

3. Types of cookies, purpose of cookies and legal basis for cookies

We use different types of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Strictly necessary cookies are required to browse the website and use the functions of the website. If you disable essential cookies, the functionality of the website will be impaired. The legal basis for storing information in the end user's terminal equipment and/or accessing information already stored in the end user's terminal equipment is Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDD. The legal basis for the subsequent processing of your personal data is the legitimate interest of us the third party (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Cookies to improve the website: These cookies allow us to process information about the use of the website and the extent of its use by individual users. This includes whether a user has visited the website before, which website they came from, the general use of the website and the areas that users prefer, which enables us to improve the performance of the website and the user experience when using this website. The legal basis for storing information in the end user's terminal equipment and/or accessing information already stored in the end user's terminal equipment is your consent in accordance with Section 25 (1) TDDDG. The legal basis for the subsequent processing of your personal data is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).
  • Cookies for the provision of extended functionalities: These cookies enable us to save the selections and settings you have made (e.g. language, region, text size, font). The legal basis for the storage of information in the end user's terminal equipment and/or access to information already stored in the end user's terminal equipment is your consent in accordance with Section 25 (1) TDDDG. The legal basis for the subsequent processing of your personal data is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

Please note that in connection with cookies, personal data may be transferred to US service providers and merged with other personal data. If data is transferred to third countries such as the USA, there is a risk that this data may be accessed by authorities without this being communicated and without the possibility of legal recourse. By giving your consent, you also agree to the transfer of data to unsafe third countries.

4. First-party and third-party cookies

First-party cookies may be stored on our websites so that third parties can place cookies on your device. The difference between a first-party cookie and a third-party cookie relates to the control of the party providing the cookie. First-party cookies are cookies that are specific to the website that created them. Their use enables us to provide an efficient service and to track the behavior of visitors to the website. Third party cookies, on the other hand, are placed on your device by third parties (i.e. not by us). While we may allow third parties to access the Website to place these cookies on user devices, we do not retain control over the information provided by the cookies, nor do we retain access to this data. The legal basis for collecting information via third-party cookies depends on the type of cookie, see above.

5. Cookies, that are used on our websites

The cookies used on our website are described in detail in our privacy settings. There you will find the name of the cookie, the file(s), an explanation, the lifespan, the cookie type and the recipients as well as any appropriate security measures.

6. Revocation of consent, deactivation, cookies, browser settings

If you have given your consent, you can revoke your consent at any time with future effect via our data protection settings. Such withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

You can also change your selection for the use of certain types of cookies and similar technologies in our privacy settings.

In addition, most web browsers allow at least some control over most cookies via the browser settings. You can refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser to decline cookies. You can also delete existing cookies via your browser.

Please note, however, that if you withdraw your consent or disable cookies, you may not be able to use all the features of our websites. In particular, you may have limited access to some areas or be transferred to a different experience.
