Happiness is a universal topic that affects us all. We all long for contentment and fulfilment in life. Often all it takes is a brief moment of reflection to recognise the small moments of happiness that enrich our lives.
In October 2024, Wolman Wood and Fire Protection GmbH called on its employees to share their personal moments of happiness from the past year. This marked the start of the first creative competition, which was received with great enthusiasm. Numerous entries, which were designed with a lot of passion and creativity, reached us in a very short time.
To honour this passion, we organised a unique evening of moments of happiness, which was accompanied by a fantastic fundraising campaign. An event supported by generous prizes from our sponsors and partners helped raise an impressive donation amount of EUR 5,000.00. The donation cheque was ceremoniously handed over to the board of the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Freiburg, represented by board member Dr Vogt.
The support organisation is committed to helping children with cancer and their families. The chances of recovery for affected children depend on many factors. It is therefore crucial to advance research, improve medical care and, above all, support families who fear for the lives of their children. Since the association was founded 40 years ago, all donations have been channelled into numerous projects. Recently, the construction of a new parents' house was completed in close proximity to the Children's and Youth Clinic at the University Hospital Freiburg. The new parents' house, which was entirely funded by private donations, offers 45 rooms and apartments, allowing affected parents to be near their sick children.
As a responsible company, it is a pleasure for us to make our contribution. As a member of the Sika family, we support the Group-wide community engagement programme Sika Cares and actively support people and social communities. Our aim is to improve the quality of life of children, adults and families in the regions in which we operate. When selecting the project, we focussed on health and well-being in combination with sustainable construction. By continuing the project, we will continue to support local organisations in the future.
