Wolman - wood preservatives that meet the highest requirements
Wolman develops, produces and distributes wood preservatives of the highest quality.
A product range which is future-orientated and highly competitive puts us among the world’s leading companies in the wood preservation industry. Our considerable investment in research and development benefits our customers and improves the competitiveness of our own products.
Founded in 1911, we can look back on a century of experience in the preservation of wood. The name of Wolman is inextricably linked with the history of wood preservation.
Tradition, the spirit of innovation and wood preservation research at the highest international level determine the development of our products. We are focussed on providing a wood preservative that combines effectiveness and easy application with environmental compatibility and the absence of health risks.
We look back on over 100 years of history
With innovative products and services, we want to offer our customers highly efficient, competitive solutions for wood preservation and fire protection.
Leaders of innovation
We develop modern products and solutions for our customers and in doing so, we place a particularly high value on a favorable environmental profile. We consciously phase out older products in favor of new formulas using modern active ingredients and raw materials.
It goes without saying that we focus on the area of “Research and Development”. This is the only way we can live up to our claim of always offering our customers a reliable service with the highest level of expertise in wood protection.

In partnership with our customers
We help our customers to be more successful. To achieve this, we develop products, processes and services of a high scientific and technical standard, and mobilise all the resources at our disposal to guarantee a successful partnership.
We support both customers and suppliers in the endeavour to ensure the products they purchase from us, or supply to us, are handled safely and in an environmentally friendly manner.
We are committed to the interests of our customers and employees and take on social responsibility.
We take action responsibly, in keeping with the spirit of Responsible Care®. Economics does not take precedence over safety and the protection of health and the environment.
In addition to offering our customers the best quality and comprehensive service, the responsible use of our planet's finite resources is an important aspect in the development of our products.
Wolman wood preservatives extend the life cycle and thus further increase the sustainability of wood as a natural building material. Our products enable wood to be used in difficult applications, such as outdoors and under the influence of the weather, by increasing its resistance to fungal, insect and termite attack. Thus, wood preservatives are a key element in conserving this natural resource.
We assess sustainability and know the carbon footprint of our products. Our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) specify the environmental impact as well as functional and technical properties of our products. The information is quantitative, objective, verified and relates to the entire life cycle of the building product.

We are certified according to the new quality management system standard DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015. The ISO certification confirms the high priority of product quality, innovation and customer satisfaction. Our customers can rely on us that we implement all corporate processes according to international standards and that we are able to guarantee these also in the future through regular audits. Our biological testing laboratory is accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018. With this accreditation, the testing laboratory has formal recognition of the technical and organisational competence to test the wood preservatives developed by Wolman Wood and Fire Protection GmbH for their effectiveness.
We have repeatedly succeeded in developing products and systems that have broken new ground in wood preservation, like the introduction of the first chromium and arsenic-free preservative based on copper HDO in 1989. This signalled further significant progress in the wood preservation business, because today preservative containing chromium and arsenic are under restricted use in most countries in the world.
