Safety Day at Wolman

We do not compromise on safety!

On 14.02.2012 the annual global "Safety Day" was held at all sites of BASF's Construction Chemicals division, also at Dr. Wolman GmbH in Sinzheim. The aim of this Safety Day is to increase each colleague’s awareness for environmental protection and workplace safety and so to minimise the number of occupational accidents.

As a subsidiary of BASF, Wolman is committed to the principles of "Responsible Care” and "Sustainable Development". We act responsible and we believe that a high level of safety at work is eventually reflected in the quality of our products and services.

The basic idea behind the Safety Day is to strengthen each individual’s awareness for safety issues and risks in their respective work environment. Constant alertness and adequate training are the key to a high level of workplace safety. Our aim is: “zero occupational accidents”!

Wolman’s commitment to Responsible Care does not stop at our own operations, but extends beyond our factory gate to our customer’s sites. We as the Wolman team are committed to help our customers to implement the Responsible Care philosophy at their sites and to further improve their occupational safety and environmental standards.

The Safety Day at Wolman included a number of theoretical training sessions. The practical part included training for the proper handling of fire extinguishers. The employees had to practice a stumbling course which impressively sensitized for tripping and fall hazards. Simulation goggles were used to experience the dangers of alcohol consumption on balance, orientation and body control. Below you find some pictures of the Wolman Safety Day 2012.

Management and staff agree that the Wolman Safety Day 2012 was a great success!
